Summers here are mild and pleasant, with mid-summer temperatures in Luxembourg City averaging just 20°C. This is the time most of the gardens are in full bloom and most visitors are attracted to the area as recreational attractions in the countryside open for the season. Compared with other parts of northern Europe, winters are quite mild here, although mid-winter months tend to be cloudy and rainy. Temperatures at this time of year remain close to the freezing mark. Snow is seen in the Ardennes Mountains, although the frequency and amount are not predictable. The main tourist season begins in mid-April and runs until mid-October, with the peak in July-August, when the temperatures are at their warmest and most of Europe takes holiday. | |
