March Festivals
The Printemps Musical Festival: is held each year in March and embraces music in all forms. A series of concerts, running the gamut from chanson to classical, to jazz and popular music, forms the basis of the programme. Local and European artists share the stage with well-known international musicians for a fantastic week of music.
June Festivals
Luxembourg’s National Day: is a good reason for celebration and every year on 23 June, the country marks the day with a range of festivities. The Grand Duke conducts a review of his troops, and then for the rest of the day and into the night, the streets fill with locals and tourists enjoying the celebrations. At night, there’s a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the Petrusse Valley and providing a suitable finish for a special day.
Summer in the City: is the premier festival for the city of Luxembourg and runs through the entire summer. Artistic events are scheduled every day, one of the highlights of which is called ‘street animation.’
Street animation involves a wandering troupe of clowns, mimes, stilt-walkers and roaming musicians who work their way through the pedestrian zone and keep everyone well-entertained. This makes for lots of fun and laughs and will surely enhance your visit to this charming city. If you’re travelling with children, they’ll love this.
October Festivals
Live at Vauban: rock music fills the air as this event amplifies rock music, sending it throughout the city, during the month of October. Just about every kind of amplified music that you can imagine is featured during the festival, breaking out of the mould of the three-man rock band.
