Exercise caution with regards to cash and valuable personal items while out in public, especially in busy places and in the capital city. When to go: from a weather perspective, Luxembourg can be visited just about any time of the year as it experiences a moderate climate with no extremes of temperature. Money: the Euro is the official currency of Luxembourg and is made up of 100 cents. Notes are available in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 Euro while coins come in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 euro cents and also in 1 and 2 euro coins. Language: French, German, and Luxembourgish (a Franconian language of the Moselle region with similarities to German) are all considered official languages in Luxembourg, which can be somewhat confusing for visitors.
