Introduction to Jounieh - Beach
Beautifully located in the stunning Bay of Jounieh on Lebanon's Mediterranean coastline, Jounieh is one of the country's leading tourism destinations. The city is 16kms north of the capital, Beirut, and roughly 20kms from Beirut Airport, the main gateway to Lebanon. It is a key business centre and has a population of over 115,000 inhabitants. The bay features a picturesque beach which is a popular spot for those enjoying weekend getaways from the nearby capital. This area of town is known as Old Jounieh and features outdoor restaurants and cafes, pretty boutiques, artisan shops and Jounieh Beach hotels. When the sun goes down, the bars and nightclubs which line the old bay road open and provide a glitzy atmosphere.
