Introduction to Byblos, Lebanon
Byblos, which also goes by its Arabic name of Jbeil, is an ancient city with a number of Bylbos hotels that tourists can stay at while seeing the city’s sites. As it is only 23 miles from the centre of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, Byblos is often used a base for those wishing to enjoy the capital, which is one of the Middle East’s largest cities, yet would prefer to sleep in less hectic surroundings. Landmarks that impress tourists include Crusader Castle, which has been around since the 12th century, Kings Tomb, Tower Temple and the Old Souk churches.
