Introduction to Broummana, Lebanon
There is a wide selection of hotels in Broummana, a Lebanese town to the east of the country’s capital. From the top of its pine forested hill, spectacular views of the town, the coast and the capital are available. At just a stone’s throw from the country’s Mediterranean coast, it is a popular spot for getaways by mostly domestic and Kuwait, UAE and Saudi tourists during the summer months from June to August. Winters here are cool in temperature, with occasional snow, while summers, although regularly seeing temperatures of 30°C, are considered cool regionally. During the summer, the population swells about five-fold from 15,000. The largely Christian population of the town is evidenced by the presence of the Church of the Prophet Cha'ya, the town’s oldest Greek Orthodox church of Byzantine origin.
