Xieng Khuan is a town of Laos famous for its stunning Buddhist Park. Located about 25kms to the south-east of Vientiane, Xieng Khuan is an extremely popular tourist attraction for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Hotels in Xieng Khuan are predominantly guesthouses with basic amenities. However, there are a few mid-range hotels in Xieng Khuan that provide comfortable accommodation for the Buddhist Park sightseer. In comparison to neighbouring countries like Thailand and even Vietnam, hotels in Xieng Khuan are generally inexpensive. If staying in the Xieng Khuan hotels are a little too much, then there are plenty of choices in Vientiane, which is only about 20 minutes drive from the Spirit City Xieng Khuan. The Buddhist Park is one of Laos’s hidden marvels, but it does not have a temple or shrine in the meadow. Instead, tourists will find a vast array of Buddha statues, including a large reclining Buddha, a pumpkin-like concrete house, and a unique four-headed statue. The park provides an intriguing day-trip for tourists.
