Getting There

Getting to Aqaba
By ferry: Egypt is within easy reach of the port of Aqaba. The most popular points of departure to the Jordanian coast are Nuweibah and Taba, the latter a border crossing between Egypt and Israel which Israelis are permitted to visit visa-free for short periods.
The Taba-Aqaba crossing takes an 1 hour, 15 minutes and the Nuweibah up to 3 hours depending on the boat (a faster vessel does the trip in about an hour).
Coming cross-border, the most convenient route is through the Israeli border town of Eilat which is very close by. There are no rail links to Aqaba.
By air: it is just a 20-minute drive north of the city to King Hussein International Airport with connections taking just 45 minutes to Amman on Royal Jordanian, the national carrier, which services regular flights.
