Aqaba is perhaps best known for its excellent Red Sea diving on the farthest reef from the equator found on the planet: a colourful underwater world that attracts scuba divers from around the globe. The city is also a place to relax, with its Turkish bath, good dining and hot, lazy days on the beach.
Snorkelling: if you don’t have your scuba diving certificate don’t miss out. Snorkelling equipment is readily available for hire and there are plenty of shallow reefs to explore.
Turkish bath: the ultimate in relaxation, Aqaba’s Turkish baths, or hamam, are equally as popular with tourists as they are with the locals.
Golf: head to Tala bay for a course close to the coast and with all the necessary equipment available for hire.
