Introduction to Amman - Abdoun
Located in the south of Amman, Abdoun is considered to be one of the Syrian capital's most affluent areas. Some of the most expensive property in Amman is located here. Many local youngsters congregate in the area around Abdoun Circle, where restaurants, cafes and street stalls provide plenty of interesting entertainment. The local shopping centre is the other main meeting point; this was Amman's first ever shopping centre when it opened in 2001. At night, the district's high-end discos attract a good mix of locals and tourists. On the other hand, coffee lovers should head to the Broadway area, where there is a selection of shops serving gourmet blends. Travellers can reach Abdoun hotels by taking the 27 bus from the old town (Balad). The bus crosses the newly-constructed bridge from the 4th circle, one of few bridges in the capital. Alternatively, there are plenty of taxis; those with a green logo on the doors, or grey taxis with an advertisement on the roof, are the best ones to take.Visit our Amman Travel Guide
