Introduction to Amman - 3rd Circle
In Jordan's sprawling capital of Amman, white stone buildings line the dizzying web of streets and highways between the old residential area in the east and the lively modern districts in the west. The Jabal Amman district is the city's financial and diplomatic hub, with many hotels and restaurants found along the 3rd Circle, also called King Talal Square. The 3rd Circle is located in the Shmeisani neighborhood, between the downtown area and the Ammanian hills. 3rd Circle hotels are located close to a number of famous Jordanian restaurants, including Levant, Romero's and Argeelah. Evenings in town are best spent watching the sunset from a vantage point near the Citadel which, when overlapping with the muezzin call, creates an ethereal atmosphere unlike any other. Experience Old Amman in Balad, the downtown shopping area filled with souqs and street vendors selling olive wood carvings, Jordanian daggers, Bedouin embroidered clothing and brass teapots.
