Edo-Tokyo Museum: this is a very thorough look back at the history of Tokyo, formerly Edo, starting 400 years ago to the present day. It includes the fascinating war years and directly after the time Japan was in ruins with lots of kimonos, Japanese theatre and lanterns along the way. A must see for those interested in the origins of the world’s largest city.
Behind Ryogoku station. Open: 09:30 to 17:30, Sunday to Friday; 09:30 to 19:30, Saturday.
Meguro Parasitological Museum: if you’ve ever dreamed of seeing parasites up close and personal, then this is your chance.
