Tokyo Travel Guide
Golf: Tokyo may be a crowded city but of you take a train out there are plenty of courses and driving ranges to play at given that the Japanese are golfing mad. The Kazusa Monarch Country Club in Chiba Prefecture, 1 hour, 30 minutes from the very heart of the city, is a popular choice for those who just want a game without membership. Two hours out of the city in Kanagawa Prefecture is the sublime Sakawa Course where most of the holes look out towards snow-capped Mount Fuji.
Massage: like many destinations in Asia, and indeed the rest of the world, Tokyo’s massage parlours don’t always give the sort of treatment you were expecting. However, there are plenty of genuine, non-mucky places that give very good traditional massages, including those at top hotels and dotted throughout the city. For the ultimate in relaxation, nothing else quite comes close.
Walking: with two national parks within mainland Tokyo Prefecture and countless parks and outer-lying areas of countryside, taking a walk or short hike is very possible, even just an hour outside of the city. Popular spots include those around picturesque Mount Mitake and Mount Takao, both an easy daytrip from downtown Tokyo.
