Baseball: the much maligned Hiroshima Carp Professional Baseball team don’t seem to win many matches these days, but the support and enthusiasm of their fans can’t be criticised. The current stadium is opposite the Peace Memorial Park, although a new one is due to open in a couple of years.
Hiroshima Family Pool: during the summer months, this is the ideal place to escape the sweltering heat. The pool is popular with the locals, especially families. It becomes an outdoor ice-skating rink during the winter months, and skates are available for hire.
