Shin Yokohama is part of the second largest city in Japan after Tokyo. The city is an important transport hub and has high-speed trains to Tokyo, Osaka and other cities in Japan from Shin Yokohama Station. The area around the station has a good selection of Shin Yokohama hotels, perfect for those who may have an early morning departure. It is home to the world's tallest inland lighthouse, known as the Yokohama Marine Tower. It is 106 metres high, and it is possible for visitors to get to the top and see wonderful views over Yokohama. On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen from the tower.
