Introduction to Yokohama - Yokohama Port
Located on Tokyo Bay's western coast, just south of Tokyo, is Yokohama, Japan's second-largest city. This bustling colourful place has a long relationship with foreigners, so most visitors find it a very easy city to explore. Its amazing port was the first in the country to open to foreign trade after Japan opened its doors in 1854. Osanbashi Pier is the largest international pier at the port, with a rooftop garden open for public use and a great viewing spot for spectacular sunsets. Hakkeijima Seaparadise is another major tourist attraction down by the waterfront. This aquarium and amusement park has tons of activities for kids and adults alike involving fun rides and interactive sea creature experiences. In the nearby Minato Mirai district are the finest Yokohama Port hotels, including the iconic InterContinental Grand with its sail-shaped building that makes up part of the city's skyline. With so much to do around the port, it makes sense to stay here if you can afford it.Visit our Yokohama Travel Guide
