Introduction to Wakayama, Japan
The prefecture of Wakayama is one of the best locations in Japan for natural attractions and dramatic coastal scenery. Situated on Honshu the area has forested national parks as well as 130 islands off the rugged coast. Visitors will find a wide range of Wakayama hotels to choose from, offering good accommodation. One of the great attractions in the area is the Wakayama Castle, dating back to 1536 although much of it has been rebuilt. Guests in the Wakayama hotels can also look forward to seeing some of the most dramatic coast in the country. Small coves and beaches dot the coastline. The World Heritage site on the sacred mountain of Koyasan heads the list of cultural attractions. Hotels in Wakayama feature their own restaurants, and in this region there are some specialties which will turn the head. Chinese noodles are a favourite local dish, but maybe the pickled plums will also catch the eye.other spellings: wakayamahotels, wekayama otel, wukayama hotell, wacayama hote
