Introduction to Tokyo - Shinbashi
Shinbashi’s location in the heart of Tokyo makes it one of the most popular places for visitors to stay in the city. There are a range of accommodation options in Shinbashi, from traditional Tokyo hotels known as ryokans, to luxurious high-end hotel chains. Shinbashi accommodation is popular due to its convenient location nearby some of Tokyo’s most popular attractions. Tsukiji fish markets are just a few stations away from Shinbashi, and Tokyo’s luxurious Ginza district sits at the south end of the district. Some of the best shopping and dining is located along Shinbashi’s Akita-dori, which runs through the heart of the area until it reaches the gates of the Imperial Palace. If you head along Akita-dori, away from the Imperial Palace, you will reach Toranomon. This part of the district is popular with expats, and as such, it houses some exclusive cafes, hotels, boutiques and eateries.Visit our Tokyo Travel Guide
