Introduction to Tokyo - Akihabara
Tokyo’s Akihabara district is a popular place among international visitors to Japan’s bustling and vibrant capital. It is Tokyo’s electric town, with a variety of electronic stores offering some real bargains. There are excellent Tokyo hotels in the area, many of which are located along Chuo Dori, Akihabara’s main street. Akihabara is also known throughout the world as the capital of manga and anime. Anime shops are clustered around Akihabara Station, which is another good area to find accommodation. If you take a short walk from the station, you will find the local area of Ueno, which is a good place to find business services in Tokyo. The district is a good choice as a base for foreigners visiting the city, as many people in this area speak fluent English. A number of western style facilities are located on Soto-Kanda, which sits on the opposite side of Akihabara Station to Chuo Dori.Visit our Tokyo Travel Guide
