Introduction to Shizuoka, Japan
The prefecture of Shizuoka is the home of the most famous symbols of Japan, Mount Fuji. But this area has an abundance of attractions apart from the famous volcanic mountain. Shizuoka is a destination that attracts tourists looking for beach and mountain activities, so there is a wide range of tourist amenities in the area geared to providing service to those visitors. Besides nature, this prefecture contains several interesting historic sites such as the Sunpu Castle ruins and the Toro archaeological ruins. The capital city is a fully-functioning outpost for travellers, with ample choices for eating, drinking and sleeping. There are several types of hotel in Shizuoka, as in most regions of Japan, but for a real Japanese experience the Ryokon is the best bet, featuring a simple room often in a family house where traditional lifestyle is the main factor. The JR main line train runs right through the city, offering easy access to Tokyo or Osaka.other spellings: shizuokahotels, shizouka otel, chizuoka hotell, shizuoga hote, shizuoga hotes
