Introduction to Shizuoka - Kamo
Kamo is a district in the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. It is situated on the Izu Peninsula in the south of Japan. Excellent views of Mount Fuji can be seen from the western coast of the peninsula, which is an icon of Japan and frequently depicted in Japanese art. This part of Japan has beautiful beaches, dramatic coastline, spectacular mountain scenery and hot spring resorts. The Izu Peninsula was affected by the Japanese earthquake in March 2011 but this no longer affects tourism in the area. It is possible to go hiking along the mountain trails to admire the stunning scenery as well as to scuba dive and partake in other water sports at the beaches. Kamo is a great place for visitors to base themselves as there are plenty of Kamo hotels in the district's five towns of Higashiizu, Kawazu, Minamiizu, Matsuzaki and Nishiizu, with excellent transport links to various parts of the peninsula as well as the cities of Tokyo and Shizouka.other spellings: kamohotels, camo otel, kamo hotell, karmo hote, gamo hotes
