Introduction to Sapporo - Chinjuku Station
Sapporo, filled with tree-lined boulevards, modern architecture and a number of beautiful parks, is one of Japan's newest cities. It is the main transport hub of Hokkaido Island, hosting the main train station. Trains arrive here from all over the country and many travellers stop here to change trains en route to other destinations. Two city transport lines pass through the city, making it easy to tour the area. As a result, there are a large amount of Chinjuku Station hotels within walking distance of this busy station which is located within Sapporo's main commercial centre. Within the station are five platforms and two concourses. The area is a shopaholic's dream, as major shopping centres such as the JR Tower and the Daimaru Shopping Complex can be found here. The famous Odori Park, which is a great place to escape the crowds of this bustling city, is just minutes away on foot.
