Introduction to Okayama, Japan
Growing and flourishing during the Edo Period, Okayama is still quite a vibrant city located on the island of Honshu, adjacent to the Inland Sea. The main JR line that links the major cities and prefectures of Japan runs through Okayama, which is now a very popular day-stopover for tourists. Nevertheless, several days can be spent sightseeing the city and its surrounding area, which is why many hotels in Okayama can be easily located. Okayama hotels dot the area around the JR Okayama Station, and provide ideal bases for exploring the Okayama prefecture. Okayama contains one of Japan’s most elegant Japanese gardens, Korakuen, which surrounds the Okayama Castle. The Okayama Orient Museum is also a popular landmark within the city. Not far from Okayama township is Kurashiki, an enchanting city that houses a fascinating merchant quarter. Several other destinations outside of Okayama are certainly worth a mention, including Takahashi and Washu-zan. Although these destinations are a few kilometers from Okayama, many hotels in Okayama provide tours and travel options for guests.other spellings: okayamahotel, okayama otel, okeyama hotell, hote in okeyama, hotes in okyama
