Introduction to Niigata - Niigata Station
Niigata is a modern city on the north-west coast of Japan’s main island, Honshu. The city is a regional transport interchange with a ferry port and a mainline rail station. Niigata Station is in the central Bandai precinct of the city and is the location of a number of Niigata hotels. The station is close to the bank of the River Shinano. The Sea of Japan coast and the city port are a little farther, across the other side of the river. The luxury Niigata hotels are close to the river banks, with additional budget options in the side streets off the central thoroughfare. The Toki Messe convention centre is in the Bandai district and visitors attending functions here would only be a few minutes walk away when staying at Niigata hotels near the station. The main sites for tourists in Niigata are the Provincial Botanical Gardens and the Ryutopia arts centre. Sado Island is offshore and has some fine beaches and peaceful gardens.other spellings: niigata stationhotels, nigata station otel, niigata hote, nigata station hotes
