Introduction to Niigata - Bandai
A large, modern city connected to Tokyo by a two-hour ride on the Shinkasen high-speed rail service, Niigata offers a remarkable relaxing atmosphere on the sea, despite the city's importance as a hub for transport. The metropolis is surprisingly free of skyscrapers and offers charming streets along which visitors can easily walk to most destinations, although the bus system is excellent if your feet begin to complain. Hotels in Bandai put visitors at the centre of the action, and all attractions are easy to reach. Sado Island is just over one of the many bridges nearby and is worth visiting, especially if you've already tapped out the city's list of tourist destinations. A night-time cruise on the Shinano River is also a great way to enjoy the city's pretty skyline. The Northern Culture Museum is worth a few hours perusing the exhibits. Sake, the famous Japanese alcohol, can be enjoyed at the Sake Museum, which also offers sake baths! The rural way of life can be sampled at the Hands-on Agriculture School, which offers a traditional inn and the chance to make your own soba noodles.other spellings: bandaihotels, bandai hotell, bandai hote, bandia hotles, bendai hotle, bandai hotes
