Introduction to Nagoya - Naka Ku
Nagoya’s city centre, which is known as Naka Ku to locals, is a vibrant district and comfortable base for enjoying the city’s myriad draws. Hotels in Nagoya Naka Ku range in standard from a basic travellers’ inn up to luxury five-star establishments. The Nagoya hotels here are a few minutes walk at most from the gigantic underground Sakae shopping centre, the Nishiki and Shin-sakae entertainment precincts, the Osu shopping bazaar, and the science and contemporary art museums. The city’s two iconic tourists draws, Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine, are south of the central Nagoya. The shrine is Japan’s second holiest site. Tourists arriving in summer may enjoy the pristine sands at Nishiura Onsen Beach on Mikawa Bay. Nishiura is close to the small town of Gamagori, which can be reached on public transport from Nagoya.
