Introduction to Nagoya - Chikusa Ku
Filled with parks, gardens and a vast amount of universities, the Chikusa Ward is one of 16 to be found in Nagoya. It is a great place to use as a base for exploring this economic metropolis. One of the biggest attractions here is Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, which is one of Asia's largest and houses over 125 types of animals. There is also an amusement park on site and the 100-metre high Higashiyama Sky Tower. This landmark has a great observation deck that offers amazing views of Nagoya. Also found in Chikusa is the peaceful Heiwa Park, which is visited by many tourists wishing to witness Japan's famous cherry blossoms in late March and early April. The metro Line H has eight stations here, making it easy to visit other wards within Nagoya. There is a great selection of Chikusa Ku hotels that consist of capsule-style rooms as well as ordinary ones.
