Introduction to Nagasaki - City Centre
Nagasaki is a port city in the south of Japan on the island of Kyushu. It is a beautiful city, brimming with authentic Japanese culture, and though known all over the world for the atomic bomb that was dropped here, it has quickly re-established itself as a city of culture and commerce. Staying at Nagasaki hotels enables visitors to explore this amazing city with ease. Sights such as Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall and the Peace Park should not be missed. The homes of expats who lived in the city during the mid-19th century post-Meiji Restoration period can be explored in Glover Garden. Other attractions worthy of a visit include the temple of Sofuku-ji and Suwa Shrine, the former built in the 17th century. The Atomic Bomb Museum is the city’s most visited museum and commemorates the tragedy with compassion. Further exhibits from the WWII period are documented at the interesting Oka Masaharu Memorial Nagasaki Peace Museum.Visit our Nagasaki Travel Guide
