Introduction to Miyazu, Japan
The little city of Miyazu overlooks a bay of the same name in Kyoto, on the west coast of Japan's Honshu Island. As with so many parts of Japan, the natural beauty of the area is stunning, with many low, densely-forested mountains overlooking the sea. By far the biggest attraction here is Amanohashidate, considered one of Japan's top-three beautiful sights. This narrow spit of land known as the 'Bridge to Heaven' forms a land bridge almost four-kilometres long across the bay and is covered with pine trees. Chair lifts and cable cars carry visitors into the local hills for superb views. Visitors staying at hotels in Miyazu will have no trouble exploring the city. Chionji, a Buddhist temple, stands near the southern end of Amanohashidate. The Amanohashidate Hot Spring is great for relaxing after traipsing through the hills. The local railway station is near the temple, making it easy to get in and out of the city. Train journeys from Kyoto take about two hours.other spellings: miyasu otel, miyaza hotell, miyazo hote, miyazu hotels, miyazu hotle, meyazu hotes
