Kanazawa is located on the edge of the Sea of Japan, bordering the Japanese Alps, Noto Peninsula National Park and Hakusan National Park. The city is one of few major Japanese cities to have escaped the firebombing during WWII; so Kanazawa has managed to preserve its architectural heritage. Attractions include the magnificent Kanazawa Castle, as well as a prominent geisha district. There is plenty of accommodation to choose from, as hotels in Kanazawa are spread throughout the city. Kanazawa hotels are mainly housed in large high rises, and most are within a few minutes walking distance of train stations. Suburban Kanazawa hotels offer a more subdued setting, yet all amenities are still within easy reach, thanks to an excellent rail network. Kanazawa hotels situated outside the centre have some appealing extras, such as outdoor swimming pools and expansive gardens. However, regardless of location, all hotels in Kanazawa offer a high standard of service.
