Introduction to Kagawa, Japan
Kagawa is a small prefecture located on the island of Shikoku in southern Japan. Its capital city Takamatsu has the most things to do and see on the island and is very popular with tourists. A great range of hotels in Kagawa can be found running along the main road towards Takamatsu Port, ranging from budget guesthouses to large luxury hotels catering to business travellers and holidaymakers. The waterfront area is where most of the action happens, with plenty of trendy restaurants, bars and shops to keep visitors entertained. Areas such as Ritsurin, with its Edo-era gardens, and the historic town of Kitcho are also interesting to explore for a taste of rural Japan steeped in history. There is a good public transport system with many train stations connecting towns on the outskirts of Kagawa directly into the capital near the waterfront.
