Hatago Ryokan Hotel Higashiagatsuma - Gunma

The luxurious and intimate retreat of the Hatago Ryokan Hotel Higashiagatsuma, Gunam, is scenically located in the region’s northern mountains and provides guests the utmost in comfort. This traditional Agatsuma lodging features decoration and furniture from the Edo era, as well as many pieces of Japanese folk art. The units are beautifully appointed, each laid out in authentic Japanese style with straw mats and a fireplace in the living room. They have a toilet and wash basin, although the shower facilities are located in the onsite hot spring rooms. The restaurant serves up traditional irori kaiseki cuisine, which is cooked on a Japanese fireplace. A Japanese breakfast is also served here. The lodging is situated by the popular Yakushi Onsen Hatago hot springs. Mount Shirane, meanwhile, approximately 30kms away, is home to the Yugama emerald lake with the highest concentration of acid in the world.

The house specialty is irori-kaiseki cuisine which is prepared and cooked on a traditional Japanese-style fireplace set in the center of the floor. Japanese breakfast and Japanese dinner will be provided at their dinning space, if included in plan. For group guests, Japanese style banquet rooms are also available.

The lobby is placed in a house, called Honjin. It is large in size with a small reception impressive thatched-roof, large floor-to-ceiling windows and a large irori counter. The lounge and souvenir shop are located in the same house.
