Introduction to Gunma, Japan
Hotels in Gunma are available for all types of visitors, whether they are staying in the prefecture for business purposes or simply seeking somewhere to relax for a holiday. The capital, Maebashi, is the main gateway to the area. Though mostly devoid of tourist attractions, the region offers the Green Dome Maebashi, a domed stadium with a capacity to seat 8,000. Tourists to the prefecture usually head to the likes of Kusatsu, a charming hot spring resort where Yubatake (hot water stirring) shows can be witnessed. Kiryu is the usual jumping-off point for visits to the upper Watarase River valley’s gorges. This city is also a fine spot to view pre-WWII architecture due to the community being largely unscathed by bombings during the war period. From here, trips to Japan’s 'Grand Canyon', the site of a former copper mine, can be launched. Mt Shirane, where the emerabld-coloured lake of Yugama is situated, is a popular skiing spot in winter.other spellings: gunmahotels, gunma otel, gunma hotell, gunma hote, gunma hotes
