Grand Hotel Yamagata - Japan

Housing the artworks and sculptures of the Grand Museum, the Grand Hotel Yamagata is a tourist attraction in itself. Good sized guestrooms feature mini bars and televisions, and internet access is also available. The residence has 3 restaurants serving up freshly prepared Chinese, Japanese and French cuisine. There is also a bar where guests can rejuvenate with a drink. Bunshokan heritage building is a 5 minute walk away. Other local highlights include the mountain temple, where the Haiku master Basho composed his poetry. Zao is popular with hikers and nature lovers and has some fabulous hot springs. Nanoka machi Street is a good place for shopping and is where the Hanagasa Festival takes place every summer. The Castle Folk Museum and the Zao National Monument should also be visited.

All rooms are medium size, with simple decor. All are equipped with Mini-bar, Television and, in some rooms, Internet access available. Double room has 140cm wide bed. Bathroom is small but in good condition.

There are three restaurants, French, Chinese and Japanese Cuisine. All provide fresh food from the local markets in different style. A bar and a coffee lounge are also available.

It is medium with some sitting space. There are some pictures and sculptures that create a museum-like atmosphere in the lobby.
