This is one of the oldest resort hotels in Japan and it use to be a country house of an old Japanese baron. This hotel has also large rose and azalea gardens. Guest may be able to enjoy a scenic Mount Fuji view from the gardens, some rooms and observatory when the weather is fine especially in winter. Outdoor public bath is also available.
There is a French restaurant on the ground floor with wide-opened windows facing the lake Ashi. In summer, the hotel provides some seats on the outside terrace , where fresh gentle breeze blows from the lake. There is a lounge on the ground floor offering coffee, cakes and cocktails in front of the fireplace.

It is a 4-storey white building, which looks like a European guest house.
