Introduction to Beppu - Beach
One of Japan's 'Three Great Hot Springs', Beppu is a popular vacation spot for Japanese as well as international travellers. This picturesque city is sandwiched between mountains and the Inland Sea, resulting in some stunning views that make for excellent holiday photos. The Jigoku hot springs are Beppu's main draw. There are 10 hot springs in total, all of which are easy to get to by bus. Not all of the springs offer onsen for bathing due to the water temperature being very high. A day pass can be bought at the Foreign Tourist Office in the train station, which is also where the bus that takes visitors to these amazing springs can be met. The station is only a stone's throw from Beppu Bay, where plenty of Beppu Beach hotels can be found. There are also a few hot springs within the city centre itself that are worth visiting, some of which are minutes away from the beach on foot.
