Introduction to Aichi - Airport
The biggest airport in central Japan's Aichi prefecture is Chubu Centrair International Airport, situated on an artificial island near the city of Tokoname in Ise Bay. This hub has replaced the old Nagoya Airport since it first opened in 2005, and served well over 11 million passengers during the following year. Chubu Centrair International Airport has now become Japan's eighth busiest, and its grounds currently include two full service Aichi Airport hotels. This airport is one of five in Japan built offshore, and the country's second constructed on a manmade island. Three separate piers lead into the main terminal's central ticketing area. The terminal's south side handles all international flights, while the north side handles all domestic flights. All maintenance and ground operations are handled on the terminal's lowest level with departures processed on the third level and arrivals on the second level. Direct flights to most major Asian cities are available at Chubu Centrair International Airport as well as non-stop flights to Abu Dhabi, Helsinki, Honolulu and Frankfurt. The 61 restaurants and shops at the Sky Town shopping centre on the airport's fourth floor are open to the general public.other spellings: aichihotels airport, aich otel airport, aichi airport hotell, aichi hote air port, aichi hotes
