Introduction to Manchester, Jamaica
The parish of Manchester is located within the central western regions of the island nation of Jamaica. The capital city of the parish is the large town of Mandeville, which rests in the centre of the parish, away from the coastline. The parish is reliant upon the bauxite mining industry for its income, but there are some small scale cultivation projects happening here. Even though the area is not an overly visited one when it comes to tourism, it can still be reached via air, with Kirkvine Airstrip located just two kilometres from the centre of Mandeville. The A2 Highway is the largest roadway connecting Manchester parish to the rest of Jamaica. Manchester hotels can be located in most cities and towns throughout the region. Visitors that spend time in the parish can enjoy several factory tours, including those of the Chocolate Factory and Pickapeppa Factory. Heron Hill has the famous tomb of Captain Alexander Woodburn Heron, and Marshall's Pen Great House is a remarkable 200-year-old house located within a wildlife sanctuary to the northwest of Mandeville. other spellings: manchester jamica hotels, otelin manchester, manchester hote, manchester hotell
