By air: Pisa International Airport is conveniently located just outside the city centre. The airport provides a number of flights to and from major European destinations, with occasional flights to New York. Passengers can find a train station near the airport, about five minutes by bus. Shuttle buses are also available while taxis are aplenty outside the terminal.
The airport is modern, with excellent facilities. There is a shopping area where you can do your last minute shopping for local products, a bank, restaurants and bars while business passengers can use the Business Centre and VIP lounge that come with internet and telephone services.
By bus: for those on tight budget, taking a bus might sound like a good choice. However, a bus ride can be quite long and uncomfortable. There are regular services connecting Pisa with Lucca and coastal areas, as well as major cities such as Rome and Florence.
By car: the A12/E80 motorways will take you to Pisa. Those travelling from Rome or Genoa will arrive in Pisa through Grosseto and Livorno. From Florence, the motorway will take you to Pisa via Lucca. Unlike most Italian cities, Pisa offers several car parks in the city and a great number of parking spaces near tourist attractions.
