Naples Travel Guide
By air: Capodichino Airport, about eight kilometres northeast of the city, is the major hub providing access to Southern Italy. There are several chartered flights in the summer although most of the flights are domestic, with some arriving from Europe. The airport, even though not one of the busiest in the country, boasts fully-equipped facilities.
Passengers can find ATMs and exchange bureaux, restaurants and bars, shops and duty-free areas. Business passengers can find high-speed internet, computers, fax and photocopying machines as well as meeting rooms and VIP lounges.
By car: motorists will find it very easy to get to Naples by road. Take A1 northwards towards Rome and the A3 southwards towards Salerno and Reggio di Calabria. The motorways reach the Tangenziale di Napoli, a major ring road around Naples. Although driving into Naples allows stunning views of Southern Italy, driving in the city is not recommended. The traffic can be jam-packed while parking spaces are inadequate.
By ferry: the main terminal is located at Molo Beverello, near Nuovo Castle. From here, you can catch boats and hydrofoils to many destinations such as Capri, Ischia, Sorrento, Procida, and Forio.
