Piazza Matteotti: is home to some of the most outstanding buildings in the city, with the highlight being the fascinating curving post office. The square is also home to other charming Baroque and period-styled buildings, built under the request of Mussolini.
San Francesco di Paola: sitting elegantly in the heart of Piazza del Plebiscito is one of the architectural masterpieces, renowned for its beautiful neo-classic basilica and altar which are detailed in gold and precious stones. The building was modelled on the Pantheon in Rome.
Botanical Garden: features a wide range of exotic plants from all over the world, including many tropical species. Covering about 12 hectares, this is one of the finest botanical gardens in Europe with the original landscaping dating back about 200 years.
The National Archaeological Museum: is one of the most interesting museums in Naples, displaying some of the most comprehensive collections in the country. The main highlights are the treasures recovered at Pompeii and Herculaneum while Roman statues, beautiful frescoes and other artefacts are also worth studying.
