Milan Travel Guide
Golf: the area surrounding Milan provides a beautiful backdrop from some excellent golf courses, suitable for all levels of players. Many of the courses are open to visitors and offer equipment and buggy hire. Le Rovedine Golf Club, just four miles from the centre, is one of the best courses around and you’ll also find good golfing at nearby Lake Maggiore.
Swimming, cycling and jogging: with Milan’s blistering summer heat, it’s not surprising that swimming is popular. There are top quality pools available and a number with facilities for families with children. The Lido, which is open from June through September, is the city’s main swimming pool, and features slides and other attractions.
Water sport: several splendid lakes are located to the north of Milan in a scenic mountainous area, where you can enjoy an array of water activities and sports, including canoeing, fishing, sailing, water-skiing and windsurfing. Lake Garda, which is situated to the east of Milan, is by far the most popular lake in the region, and the most frequently visited by tourists.
