Health

Health for Visitors to Italy
The health facilities in urban areas are particularly good, but standards are a bit lower in smaller towns and rural areas. It is recommended that you drink bottled or filtered water; and to make sure that raw vegetables and fruits are thoroughly washed or peeled before you eat them.
A visitor requiring emergency medical care should go to the nearest hospital; or if urgent care is needed while in transport, many of the country’s airports and rail stations have teams qualified to provide needed care and assist in transport to the nearest and most appropriate facility.
