A typical night on the town for the locals can range from hopping from one bar to another and enjoying the various snacks on offer, to spending a more intense evening at the one the raucous night clubs and dancing to the latest sounds. If you keep on the lookout for flyers and posters and local newspaper listings of current happenings, you’ll be sure to be well-informed during your visit.
Although Florence’s nightlife is not what brings most people to the city, you will find some lively hangouts, as well as plenty of venues that feature live music such as Dolce Zucchero, in the centre. Wine bars are popular and the number of Irish-style pubs is on the increase.
A number of busy cinemas and nightclubs are scattered throughout other parts of the city. There’s an excellent theatre company in Florence and two symphony orchestras. The Teatro della Pergola is Florence’s foremost theatre, staging classical performances.
