Introduction to Verona - Borgo Milano-Stadio
Verona, Italy may be most famous as the city where William Shakespeare set one of his best known plays, Romeo and Juliet. However, the first attraction many sports fans want to visit in this historic city in northeast Italy is Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, the home stadium of two Verona football clubs. This state-of-the-art stadium was first built in 1963, underwent major renovations prior to the 1990 World Cup and can seat up to 42,200 spectators at once. The neighbourhood where this stadium is situated, southwest of Verona's city centre, is known as either Borgo Milano-Stadio or Cittadella - Porta Nuova. Although Borgo Milano-Stadio hotels, like those elsewhere in Verona, are less expensive than those in nearby Venice, early booking is essential during Verona's busy opera season. This tranquil neighbourhood's other main attractions include the Basilica di San Zeno, the supposed setting of Romeo and Juliet's wedding and the Castelvecchio Bridge, which was first built across the Adige River during the middle of the 14th century.other spellings: borgo milano-stadiohotels, borgo milano stadio otel, borgo millano stadi hotell
