Introduction to Trinitapoli, Italy
The Italian commune and town of Trinitapoli is located in the recently-formed province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, on the southern Adriatic coast of the Apulia region. Close by is the ancient Greco-Roman city of Salpi, once an important trading post. Due to its decline in the Middle Ages, it saw its population migrate to Trinitapoli. The town became an ethnic melting-pot in the 15th century, with Slavonic invaders first taking over, followed by the crusader Knights of Malta later in the same century. The town's economy relies on agriculture and a minor contribution from its tourism industry. Trinitapoli hotels are set close to a number of interesting heritage sites, mostly religious and including the churches of Santo Stefano, Our Lady of Loreto, the Church of the Trinity with its relic of the True Cross and the 18th century St Joseph's. The town's pretty harbour and old centre are easily explored on foot, and the nearby historic sights, beaches and surrounding countryside make a stay in this little-known Italian region both interesting and fun. other spellings: trinitapolihotels, otel trimitapoli, trinitapoil hotell, trinitaploi hote, trinitaopli hotes
