Introduction to Treviso - Preganziol
Set just eight kilometres (five miles) south of the city of Trevino and around 20kms (12 miles) north of Venice and Maghera, Preganziol serves primarily as a base or a stopover point for tourists as well as those travelling on the nearby A4/E70 motorway. For this reason, there is a reasonable selection of Preganziol hotels here, though the town doesn't really offer a lot of variety in the luxury end. Additionally, the low-cost carrier-friendly Venice-Treviso Airport is only six kilometres away, meaning Preganziol serves as a good stopover for Venice visitors with early or late flights. The town itself dates back to the 12th century and boasts a few small historic structures as well as Piazza Gabbin, which is dotted with a selection of evocative sculptures. However, much of the town was rebuilt following the end of WWII and appears quite modern. Visitors can take a day to enjoy a day on 18 well-kept holes just a short drive away at Villa Condulmer Golf Club, which also features a restaurant and a driving range.
