Introduction to Trapani - Castelluzzo
Home to roughly 1,000 inhabitants, Castelluzzo occupies a fraction of Sicily's San Vito Lo Capo, which overlooks the Hood Gulf. The town is just a stone's throw from the coast, with many Castelluzzo hotels stretching along the shoreline. The award-winning Mediterranean beach here regularly receives accolade as one of Italy's, and even Europe's, greatest, yet this lovely stretch of sand is little known by foreign tourists. Complementing the beach are the nearby nature reserves of Zingaro, to the east, and Monte Cofano, to the west. These lush areas offer a wonderful diversion from the beach, with their native flora and fauna. Walking along the coastal trails here is highly recommended, while within the Monte Cofano protected the remains of human existence from prehistoric times, such tools and graffiti, can be found. The provincial capital of Trapani, home to an airport hosting low-cost flights to major European cities, sits 30kms west along the coast. other spellings: castelluzzohotels, casteluzzo otel, castalluzo hotell, castellusso hotes
