Introduction to Terni, Italy
Terni, a town located in the heart of Italy, is situated within the phenomenal region of Umbria, about 100kms north of Rome and 30kms to the south of Spoleto. It has been one of Italy's most important industrial cities since the 19th century, and was intensely bombed by the Allies during WWII. However, today, it is still remarkably picturesque and well worth visiting as it boasts a number of amazing post-war structures. Terni hotels are offered throughout the city, close to a plethora of noteworthy attractions. One of the best attractions in the city is the Church of St Francis, one of the only historical structures still standing here today. Another is the fabulous cathedral, which stands tall in the centre of the settlement. It was built in the 17th century and welcomes its fair share of tourists.
