Introduction to Taormina - Sicily Eastern Coast
Taormina is located along the eastern coastline of Italy's beautiful island province, Sicily. The Sicilian eastern coast is renowned for its natural and manmade splendours, receiving many thousands of visitors every year. Therefore, Sicilian Eastern Coast hotels are usually busy with travellers throughout the year. The town of Taormina is one of the tourist centres for the east coast region of Sicily, but there are plenty of other places to visit. In the city, there is a fabulous open-air Roman theatre that provides spectacular views of Sicily's eastern coast, including the famous Mt Etna volcano. Many people stay close to the Taormina area, in towns like Giardini Naxos and Letojanni, which are about five kilometres north and south of the city respectively. The region is busiest during the summer months of July and August, but visitors do not necessarily need to visit the area during this time as the climate is pleasant during most parts of the year.
